The Rise and Rise of Bukki

For those who have been following the blog for a while, you will already know I have mad love for Bukki. Everything about that brand typifies the young British African for me and I can't get enough! So it is with much happiness that I bring news of the brands' latest escapades. With the young and talented Bukki Ojo at the helm, the brand  have conquered the British high street with a concession in Topshop Oxford Circus and an online boutique via ASOS Marketplace. Now they are making moves in the US selling that Bukki style in Urban Outfitters online and instore! How great is that?! All the proof you need that hard work and steely determination can pay off.

The latest offering from Bukki is a departure from the reworked vintage aesthetic that initially defined the brand. The SS Jigsaw collection sees ankara print spliced into a series of formal shirts. The look is altogether more streamlined and mature than previous collections. It's different but I think it still maintains the spirit of the brand. I like them a lot and they would sit pretty in the androgynous section of my wardrobe but I really hope this doesn't sound the death knell of the reworked vintage pieces. They are just too good to be over, I'm still holding out for a Bukki-ed up denim jacket!

What do you think of the new collection? Are you based in the US, what are your thoughts on Bukki? Share all via Twitter, Facebook or leave a comment below.
