When it comes to skincare I go through phases. There was the all natural homemade phase, the super indulgent Korean phase and now I'm comfortably in the pared back 'clean' skincare phase. It all started because I was bored of my last regimen, my skin was plodding along and my sister who has incredibly sensitive skin could not stop raving about REN.
The UK brand has been a cult favourite since the early noughties and the line is famous for what the products don't have. We are talking no parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, petrolatum, silicones... the list goes on. One trip to Liberty, a lovely chat with the consultants and I had a purple bag of goodies to play with.
The travel sets are a great and more importantly affordable way to test out the range before committing to full size products.
The consultants at Liberty recommended the Clarimatte range which aims to 'encourage combination skin to normalise and rebalance'. I was using the T Zone Control Cleansing Gel day and night followed by the T Zone Balancing Gel Cream. Once a week, I would use the Invisible Pores Detox Mask. This all worked great but it was almost too effective. My skin was smooth and matte but I missed my glow. My skin felt moisturised but looked a little too close to ashy for my liking. I swapped out the T Zone Balancing Gel Cream for the Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream and my glow was back.
These are the products I tried out. I'm also looking to try out the Rose O12 Moisture Defence Oil.
I love the range because it's kind to sensitive skin but there is no compromise when it comes to active ingredients. You can feel and see the difference. The range isn't cheap but for the results you get, it's worth every penny. Plus the way their packaging is set up, you aren't wasting a drop.
