Since going full time with this blog and launching Black British Bloggers, I have found it increasingly difficult to shut my brain off. My working hours go beyond the 9 to 5 and it is not unusual to find me hunched over my laptop at ridiculous o clock in the morning. This has obviously begun to take a toll as I find myself forever tired.
In a bid to make more time for me and get my brain out of work mode, I have started to allocate at least 30 minutes to myself every Sunday. I'll be sharing my different rituals as the weeks go on so if you too are struggling to de-stress join me in a little self care.
My Spa Morning With 7th Heaven
After spending most of Saturday working, I wanted to start my Sunday with a sense of calm. I created some ambience by laying out my yoga mat (that's were the chilling would be happening) and putting on one of my favourite albums.
At the Bloggers Festival, I was gifted some samples of the Glove and Sock Masques from the new 7th Heaven SPA range and I decided to put them to good use. The masques look like oversized gloves and socks and are filled with moisturising goodness.
The Soften Sock Masques were so good. Be warned they do feel cold when you put them on so I imagine they are great after a long day on your feet. I let my feet marinade for about 20 minutes and it did a really good of softening my skin. So good in fact, I got my pumice stone out and scrubbed away at my now softened dead skin. I gave my feet a quick rinse and used the leftover product from the mask to re-moisturise my skin.
My favourite thing about the Soften Glove Masques? I couldn't use my hands. That meant no texting, no social media so I closed my eyes and let myself relax. After 20 minutes, I slipped the gloves off and massaged the excess product into my hands. There was a LOT left over so I went up my arms and gave my elbows a little TLC.
The spa range is really affordable, available on the high street and it was great to have a little at home pamper session. Keep up to date with all my self care posts by subscribing to the newsletter.
Have you tried any of the 7th Heaven spa range? I would love to hear your thoughts.
