Haitian-Italian designer Stella Jean is blowing my mind with her SS13 collection. Wax print cotton jackets are teamed with Breton striped tops, check shirts are tucked into voluminous ankara shorts, polka dots line terry cloth jackets even Hawaiian print shirts make an appearance. It's a prints party and everyone is invited!
By uniting prints that carry such distinct cultural associations, there is a real sense of multiculturalism attached to this collection. I love fashion with a message so this is right up my street. One of my favourite looks is the wax cotton pencil skirt teamed with a retro print tee, a bright yellow cardi, loads of arm candy and an elaborate headwrap complete with studs. There's something wonderfully 50s about it that I just adore.
The collection is widely available in boutiques across Italy, UK customers can head to Matches to get buying. To see a full list of stockists and more of the collection click HERE.
