How cool are longline bras? Those extra inches of fabric make for a smoking hot silhouette plus huge amounts of vintage appeal. I've wanted to rock one of these bad boys for the longest time and now (theoretically) I can! Bravissimo recently got two longline bras in stock that go up to a J cup. As my last post on DD+ bras went down so well, I thought I'd review them for my larger boobed ladies. I tried on both in a 30J.
PIPER LONGLINE BRA BY CLEO £30
PROS: This bra is hands down the most beautiful bra I have ever put on. The colour looked great on my skin and the lace detailing made me feel dainty. Crazy right? A DD+ bra that doesn't look and feel like scaffolding. I loved the shape it gave me and it did a pretty good job support wise.
CONS: It is a mission to get this thing on. It has 6 hooks so abandon any ideas of doing it up blind. It's a 'do it up at the front and twist to the back situation' unless you can find someone to give you a hand. The cup sizes run small and they don't go up to a JJ! Wahhhhhhh! While I literally loved everything about this bra, I was clearly suffering from a case of four boob.
FINAL THOUGHTS: If this bra fit, I would be wearing it right now and trying to make underwear as outerwear happen. I'm planning to try on larger back sizes and see if I can't find a happy compromise. If you do choose to order this bra, I would go up a cup size and if you have a short torso and carry more weight in your middle, I would suggest going up a back size as well.
ETTA LONGLINE BRA BY BRAVISSMO £34
PROS: A huge win for this bra is that it is true to size. It has a deeper V fit than I'm used to but I found it to be quite flattering and it didn't compromise on support. It's also slightly padded with a smooth finish so no peekaboo nipples and it'll look great under clothes. The straps are also detachable so you could go strapless (more on this later).
CONS: This colour and pattern did not suit me at all. Get this in warmer colours and I'll be there with my wallet out. I did attempt to go strapless with the bra and my boobs escaped within seconds. Depending on how your boobs are set up, this may be a non-feature for you as well.
FINAL THOUGHTS: As far as fit goes, this bra is a winner. Really nice shape and supportive. I would have kept it but I did not like the colour at all. At £34 I need to love it. Fingers crossed they bring this out in more colours. If you choose to order this bra, I would recommend sticking with your size.
