Aside from all this fashion and beauty malarkey, I'm a huge nut for quality television. Films have their place, but a good series where I can get emotionally invested in the characters over a period of years...YES PLEASE!
I'm always on the hunt for quality programming but I've never really considered webisodes until OkayAfrica brought Ackee & Saltfish to my attention. Written and directed by Cecile Emeke and based on a short film of the same name, Ackee & Saltfish invites us into the hilarious everyday machinations of two young Black British women.
That's right BLACK BRITISH WOMEN. These ladies aren't here to play gangsters girlfriends or prisoners wives. Nope! It's just women being women and it is laugh-out-loud funny. Check out the trailer below and click subscribe to catch the whole series.
